St. Francis is best known for his love of animals. Churches everywhere
celebrate his love with the "Blessing of the Animals" in October.
The Wolf Whisperer: One famous legend tells of Francis taming of a hungry wolf near the village of Gubbio, Italy.
The hungry wolf had terrified the village, so Francis took pity and went into the woods to find the wolf. Francis reportedly preached
to the wolf and convinced him/her to make a pact: the people would feed the wolf regularly, and the wolf would no longer prey upon them or their flocks. The assaults ended and the wolf and villagers lived in peace. (duh! - daily food, of course!)
Word has it that Marti/PETZRGR8 is planning another outing at the Hook; i.e., a
tail-gate party in November. Details will be forthcoming.
Rosie, the alpha Husky of the Lunch Bunch pack, turned 15 last November (2013). Here are some of the phun photos of our extravaganza at the HOOK in Nyack.
